Dusty Tome

I dug up this old video (from ’05 if I remember) that was created in one of my classes while at ITT. It was a class project (as in the whole class) where we came up with a scenario, went out to film it, then had to edit it together. It was mostly to learn how to use Premier.

The scenario was that someone, not having enough, needed money for coffee and tries to get it from someone else. Simple, but was enough to fulfill the project. We each edited together our own version of the video. Some in the class stuck with the script, others make theirs funny… I did something completely different. I made you raise an eyebrow or chuckle. Or both. It was no longer about needing money for coffee, but about trying to stop the coffee from being drunk.

Most of the people in the video were in the class (but not all). I’m not present in the video because I’m (conveniently) hiding behind one of the cameras (there were 3). The music in the video is from EVE Online (though I forget the name of the song).

This is an old animation I did back in school; a conceptual render of the current logo that was still rolling around in my head at the time. I don’t even remember why I had to do it (other than for an assignment) it’s been so long. Modeling and animation was never my focus, so ignore the poor quality (then again, it was never meant to be perfect).

The much more simplistic logo at the beginning of Tetris Attacks (granted it’s 2d and newer) is a lot better.

This is something I did back (in ’07) for one of my classes when attending ITT. It was my first time touching Maya (as opposed to Max), so I had to learn the vastly different UI. Modeling and 3d animation was never my focus, so ignore the poor quality. XD

This particular class focused on the principles of animations: things like squash and stretch, anticipation, etc. so each segment of the reel is (sort of) showing off a particular principle. Other things here are camera movements, a walk cycle, and a short scene recreation. We had to compile everything into a demo reel of sorts at the end of the class.

The character model in the video was created by Paul Orlando and the music is copyright Nintendo.
