Cybersphere Schedule: April 3rd – August 6th

Hey guys. The new Cybersphere schedule for April 3rd through August 6th is now available. As you can see, this schedule covers just over a 4 month period. Important things to note about this schedule:

  • The Cybersphere will be closed May 1st and 8th
  • The Renaissance Center is closed the last week of May, July 2, and second week of August.
  • During the months of June, July, and the first week of August, shows will be running on Friday nights at 6, 7, and 8 o’ clock.

The Future of the Cybersphere’s Show Schedule

Okay, so the current “randomized” show schedule hasn’t really made a big splash yet. Granted, I shouldn’t expect much because it IS the beginning of the year, but I was thinking… Before, we played the same set of shows for 2 months at a time… this is way too long. Now, my change to the schedule, while it lets more popular shows come around more often, even I can’t remember what’s being shown without looking at the schedule I made. I think for the next schedule, I’m going to make the same set of shows play for a month at a time. Not too long, not too short. We’ll see how it works out.

Cybersphere: A New Schedule

CS Schedule Jan-Mar 2010In the past, I’d continued to run shows the way they had always been run, but starting this week, I’ve decided to mix it up a little. I’ve been trying different things to encourage people to come see shows, most of which were discounts in various forms. This time however, rather than discounts (which proved unsuccessful), I’ve decided to change the show schedule.

Instead of running the same set of shows for a number of weeks, usually 2 months worth, I’m going to be changing up the shows every single week. I’ll be laying out the schedule for the Cybersphere 3 months at a time; in this case, January through March, etc.

My reasoning for trying this is that attendance for public shows tended to act in a bell curve fashion. When a set of shows first started, the attendance was low. Then it would pick up a bit and level off before declining towards the end of the run. Perhaps with the schedule laid out with ever changing shows, it might encourage people to come more often.

There’s no harm in trying this; if anything, the shows people ask about most often will be playing more often.

Closing Week #1

Here it is folks, the first of the two weeks the Center is going to be closed during the summer (the second being the last week of July) and this marks the beginning of no Saturdays until the second week of August. Since I’ll be stuck at home for the most part, away from fast internet (relatively speaking), you might not hear from me a whole lot until the 2nd of June, if at all.

So until next time kiddies, have fun and stay safe!
